ENTRY MADE EASY

Understanding Entry Requirements for Tanzania

Entry rules can vary depending on your nationality, route and travel history. Use the guidelines below as a helpful overview, then check the latest official information from your nearest Tanzanian embassy or consulate before travelling.

Requirements can change. Always confirm the latest regulations with official government sources or your airline before departure, especially regarding visas and health certificates.

ESSENTIAL DOCUMENTS

Passport & Visa Basics

Check passport validity

Your passport should typically be valid for at least six months beyond your entry date and contain enough blank pages for visas and entry stamps.

Confirm visa requirements

Depending on your nationality, you may need to obtain a visa before travel, apply for an e-visa online or you may be eligible for visa-on-arrival. Requirements differ by passport, so always check official guidance.

Consider applying online

Many travellers choose to apply for a tourist e-visa through official channels before departure for a smoother arrival process. Keep a printed copy or screenshot of your approval letter with you.

Keep documents handy during travel

Keep your passport, visa confirmation (if applicable), flight details and hotel / safari confirmations in your hand luggage, ready to show immigration officers when requested.
